NFIASG Undertakes Second Phase of Broadband Project: Fiber-Optic Network Implementation Plan
Denver, CO, Jan. 30, 2017 – Niagara Falls International Airport Stakeholders Group (NFIASG) has begun the second phase of their broadband development project, a Fiber-Optic Network Implementation Plan with consultants Magellan Advisors. Magellan Advisors is the nations leading broadband, telecommunications, IT, and Smart City consulting firm. Magellan completed a feasibility study for the NFIASG in 2015, and is now engaged to assist the group with a regional plan that will create build ready standards to enhance broadband for economic development throughout the Niagara Falls region.
NFIASG is composed of various stakeholders throughout the Niagara Falls region, with a combined interest of enhancing the economic development of the airport and surrounding region. The Magellan Advisors Broadband Feasibility Study in 2015 recommended the NFIASG continue to pursue efforts to enhance broadband throughout the region to encourage development of several of the areas build-ready sites, as well as continuing to support the regions current stakeholders and businesses that increasingly depend on state-of the-art broadband technology to sustain and grow their enterprises.
The Fiber-Optic Network Implementation Plan will complete a full design and engineering for a dark fiber network surrounding the Niagara Falls Airport, and to develop the appropriate governance and organizational structures to own and potentially operate said network. Magellan’s senior staff of broadband consultants, combined with our expert network engineers will develop a plan that positions the NFIASG ready to build out a dark fiber network to enhance broadband for the region’s stakeholders and businesses.
